Brooks was founded in 1998 by my brother, Jimi Brooks, who passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 38 on September 4, 2004. With harvest only a few weeks away, a group of Jimi’s peers got together and offered to harvest his grapes and make the wine for free that year. They asked me to help on the business side and I really had no choice as I was his only living relative except for his 8 year old son, Pascal. As time went on, I fell in love with the industry, the people, the passion. Running Brooks also brought me back to my birthplace of Oregon and reunited me with family and childhood friends.

Brooks is Jimi’s living legacy. His commitment to biodynamic farming, gentle approach to winemaking, and excitement for the Willamette Valley live on through our wines. Jimi’s goals were to create food friendly Pinot Noirs and restore the reputation of Riesling while achieving accessible price points so that his wines could be enjoyed every day. Today we are proudly Demeter certified biodynamic, a Certified B Corp, and a member of 1% for the planet.
