WHAT TO EXPECT:
These vineyards hover precariously over the Mosel River on extremely steep, slippery, slate slopes (say that 3 times fast). The vineyards are Demeter Certified Biodynamic and full of moxie. Upon first whiff, you might encounter a petrol-like aroma, classic for German Riesling, especially one with a little bit of age, but this quickly blows off to reveal the beautifully pristine fruit beneath. Aromas of fresh lime, tart green apple and pear, and white blossom continue onto the palate along with a distinct mineral core. This is classic Mosel Riesling. Dry, racy, and truly delicious. (FYI “Trocken” means dry.)
OPTIMAL EXPERIENCE:
Riesling is quite possibly one of the most versatile wines at the table so you can do no wrong, but we love it with sushi and Thai food.
